Meet Captain Jason

Hello and welcome! I’ve called Alabama home since 2020, but I grew up in Michigan, where I spent my childhood fishing every trout stream, pond, and lake I could find. When I wasn’t casting a line, I was hunting squirrel, rabbit, and whitetail on our family farm. I spent a lot of time fishing for walleye on Lake Erie. It is a passion that’s followed me to Alabama, where I now chase sauger as well.

Before moving here, I served as a deputy for a Michigan Sheriff’s Office and later as a police officer in North Alabama. Those experiences introduced me to some of my closest friends and built my confidence to take on any challenge life throws my way.

I met my wife, Kay, shortly after college in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She’s been my biggest supporter from the start, cheering me on as I pursue my dreams. We recently welcomed our first child, a beautiful baby girl, into our family. Rounding out our crew are our two beagles, Wyatt and Molly. Wyatt’s been with us since he was a pup, and Molly was adopted from a local shelter. Both are spoiled rotten!

My lifelong goal was to find a career that felt less like work and more like a passion. With Guntersville Fishing Adventures, I’ve done just that. I love sharing my fishing experiences and teaching others who are eager to learn. Every moment on the water is a joy!
